Diane's paintings are built in layers — expressive, textured works that begin with the landscape and move toward something more felt than seen. Working in oils and acrylics, she applies paint intuitively, using brushwork and mark-making to build surfaces that hold light, movement, and atmosphere until an image finds its form.
Echoes of the Hudson Valley's rolling fields, the landscape of the Catskill Mountain Range, Cape Cod’s coastal waterways, and shifting skies find their way into each piece — translated into paintings that sit between the familiar and the open-ended. Work that invites the viewer to bring their own memory, their own meaning, their own somewhere.
Diane works from her studio in Rhinebeck, where the landscape of the Hudson Valley — its seasons, its light, its quiet — provides a constant source of inspiration. When she is not in the studio, she can be found out in it: exploring the fields and waterways that find their way back into her work.
Diane’s work has been exhibited at the Woodstock School of Art, the Betsy Jacaruso Gallery in Rhinebeck, NY, and she is participating for the first time in the Art Studio View Tour of Dutchess County, NY.
